Caris Care

We offer care to individuals, both adults and adolescents, as well as parents.

Our specialties include:

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is a neurodevelopmental disorder that begins in childhood and often continues throughout adulthood.

Living with ADHD involves challenges that often require professional support in order to develop skills and strategies. Together with a trained clinician, people diagnosed with ADHD can create a life for themselves that is full and rewarding. Erin and Diana have years of experience working with individuals who are struggling with attention and focus issues.

  • Managing our emotions involves getting to the core of why we are feeling strong emotions. At the heart of our emotions is the way we think and perceive the world around us. Our emotions are just a gauge of the way we perceive and think about our lives and relationships. In order for our feelings to change, we need to first examine our thoughts. Challenging our thoughts and underlying beliefs is where the real work takes place.

  • Grief is a normal reaction to losing someone or something we love. It’s important not to pathologize grief but to process our feelings and memories and integrate them into our current experience. If our grief is overwhelming and we can’t get out of bed a year after a loss, support is needed.

  • Hearing the word cancer changes everything. Supporting a loved one with cancer or being treated for cancer yourself is an incredibly difficult journey. Kate and Erin have personal experience with this journey and would love to support you as you go through the process.

  • Until recently, there wasn’t a lot of research or information available for women in perimenopause and menopause. Physiological changes and the resulting mental health struggles often leave women feeling confused, anxious and lacking in self-confidence. We can help you make sense of the challenges you’re facing and support you as you live with these changes.

  • Burnout, toxic environments, moral injury — these terms have become all-too familiar in the modern workplace. If you find yourself dreading Monday mornings and wishing you could quit a job you used to find rewarding, you may be experiencing burnout. After several decades each working for Correctional Services Canada, Erin and Kate understand the impact of working in challenging environments. Kate started her career at Kingston Penitentiary and Erin began hers at Millhaven Institution in 1997.

  • Time management is a skill set that involves a number of strategies. Having a clinician trained to provide time management coaching, executive function coaching and organizational strategies can be life changing. Having someone to help keep you accountable as you work towards meeting your goals may be the support you need to reach the next level of success.

  • Diana and Erin have years of experience coaching high school and university students. They can help you set yourself up for success as you start a new school year. Imagine finishing a semester stronger than you started. Imagine completing assignments ahead of the deadline. We would love the opportunity to support you as you work towards your academic goals.

  • Being an executive sounded like a great idea when you applied for the position. Now that you have an executive position, you may need to learn some new skills: Delegation, organization and time management are all key to successfully working as an executive while still having work-life balance. Diana and Erin can help you achieve this by helping you develop strategies and skills to make executive level positions manageable.
